Now that Spring is in full swing, we have planted our square foot garden, all of my spring bulbs are blooming, and everything is turning green! Spring is definitely one of my favorite times of year! I love that everything comes to life after the dead brown Winter.
One of our family’s favorite Spring-time activities is going out to water the garden and flowers. My kids just love to help and when we are all done, we like to jump on the trampoline, and enjoy an afternoon snack. After all, it takes a lot of effort for a 5 year old to water the garden and flower beds! He enjoys all of it, the watering, the jumping, and the snack!
Lately we have been really enjoying these Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches that we pick up when we shop at Winco. The kids love the individual packages, and I love that they are nourishing, fuss free, squeeze easy snacks that they can enjoy while they are staying active outdoors!
For more than 50 years, Tree Top, a grower-owned co-op located in the heart of Washington’s apple country, has been a trusted brand, dedicated to delivering top-quality products and premium ingredients such as juices, smoothies and sauces.
In effort to bring awareness to “Raising Good Apples”, Tree Top is partnering with the National Gardening Association’s KidsGardening.org to help educate kids on gardening. For every box of Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches purchased through 5/31 Tree Top will donate $1 to help KidsGardening.org to help build and grow youth gardens.
How neat is that?! Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches come in so many varieties that there is sure to be a flavor your family will enjoy: No Sugar Added, Mixed Berry, Mango, Strawberry, Tropical, and Cinnamon, as I have pictured above. Plus, all Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches are made with wholesome, simple ingredients making it super easy for me to increase fruit in my children’s diets. Mom for the win!
Our backyard is pretty small, so we started square foot gardening last year and loved it! It’s perfect for us and you get quite a bit from such a small space! So far we have planted lettuce, onions, corn, zucchini, and squash in our square foot garden. Our lettuce has already started to sprout out of the ground. It’s so fun to see when that happens!
We used to have strawberry plants in our front yard that we ripped up last fall because we figured they were getting pretty old; our guess is that they were about 10 years old. We have only lived in our house for 2 1/2 years now, but the strawberries were so small, it wasn’t worth the weeding and watering for blueberry-sized strawberries. Since one of our favorite activities in the summer was going out to pick and eat the strawberries, we decided to buy this terra cotta strawberry plant and we are excited to see how it does! It’s nice to have it all in our backyard near our square foot garden where we can easily water both things and watch them grow.
Of course sister was napping while we were watering and missed out on all the fun, so she got to enjoy her Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouch after she woke up. 🙂

My favorite activity to do with my kids in the spring is go on a nature walk.
My son likes to collect all sorts of things on nature walks! Great activity!
We are loving our deck and practicing going in and out the door without falling. 🙂 It’s the little things!
Haha. Well, little kids gotta practice, right?!
We like to go on picnics.
My kids love to picnic in the backyard. 😉

Those are all things we love too!
We love to go to the zoo or visit playgrounds.
The zoo is a good one! We need to do that soon!
That’s awesome that your kids love the gardening too. Cute pictures! Last week my 3 year old sat in my mom’s strawberry patch and stared at them for some time. We had told him that we had to wait for the strawberries to grow, so he was! I live in a colder place, so we’re just planning on tilling up our soil in the next week or so to plant the cool-weather crops. I’m excited!
Thanks Carolyn! It’s so fun to see kids’ faces light up when they finally do get to pick those strawberries! Haha. Hopefully it warms up near you soon! We have been warm for a while, but it’s actually snowing right now. Crazy weather!
My 3-year old LOVES to help me water plants in the Spring as well as taking walks again after being cooped up all winter!
Walks are the best! My kids are starting to ride their bikes during our walks, and my husband and I can’t keep up with them!
In a perfect world, doing yard work would be my favorite springtime activity with my kids, but they won’t help. We have a great network of bike trails in my area, so we go on family bike rides.
Bike riding together as a family sounds fun!
I love planting my garden that I started from seeds 🙂 Also sharing flowers and veggie’s that I have grown,My yard is my Heaven on Earth ♥

That sounds like a lot of fun!
I like to garden and go hiking in parks with waterfalls .
Hiking near waterfalls sounds lovely!
I really want to get into gardening with my girls. This has inspired my to get started on it soon!
The square foot gardens are perfect for kids because they can’t overwater them and they are easier to weed. 🙂
Our favorite out door activity right now is just hanging out in our back yard or going to the park. Baby boy loves swings!
That sounds fun!
My little one and I started our garden yesterday. I love to watch her play on the swingset in spring.
Kids make everything so fun!
Our favorite thing to do in the spring is fishing. Everyone gets out there from the 17 year old girl to the 5 year old boy. The bigger kids “snag” Spoonbill and the younger ones just use Rooster Tail lures. This is a every weekend event rain or shine. 🙂
What great memories you are making!
Awesome! Really hope I win!
Good luck!
We love taking walks, and my little guy loves to swing. He also loves following his dad around and “helping” with anything he is doing.
Those are great activities!
My guy is almost 9 months so he is just happy to get outside and explore! So far anything he can splash in is awesome haha. He is walking now though so he likes to try and eat everyyyything!
Oh boy! That’s a fun phase! Haha. Glad he is enjoying nature!
I loved taking long walks in the woods with my children to let them explore and run free. We built some amazing forts with things we found on the way. Now I get to share these special times with my grandson!
What fun memories! 🙂
My favorite outdoor activity to do with my daughter is taking walks. I love to watch her explore and get excited about nature.
Kids are so curious, it’s way fun to watch them learn!
